Rainfall expected in MP

Bhopal, June 18 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh is likely to receive welcome showers accompanied by thunderstorms in the next 24 hours.

The Meteorological department has predicted showers and thunderstorms in Rewa, Sagar, Jabalpur, Indore and Bhopal divisions.

An upper air cycle has developed from coastal Gujarat to southern Maharsahtra. The pleasant respite from scorching summer is due to humidity arriving from these states.

The state capital witnessed passing clouds with pleasant weather during evening. A minor drop in maximum temperature, from 40 degrees Celsius to 39.7 degrees Celsius, was recorded.

Khajuraho recorded a high temperature with mercury hitting 43 degrees Celsius.

The temperature at Gwalior was recorded at 41.4 degrees Celsius while it was 42.5 C at Satna, 39.3 C at Jabalpur and 38 degrees C at Indore, which were two-three degrees above normal.
