Military institute duped of Rs 12 lakh

Pune, June 18 (UNI) A civilian employee working as a cashier at the canteen of the Military Intelligence Training School, Wanowari allegedly cheated the Institute to the tune of Rs 12 lakh over a period of four years.

The military school administrative officer, Major Parmaray Haridas Thakur, has registered a complaint against Sandeep Meghlani, a cashier at the Insitute's canteen, for duping the institute to the tune of Rs 12 lakh between 2003 to 2006 in conivance with some of his colleagues.

Major Thakur in his complaint lodged with the Wanowari police stated that the accused managed to manipulate the software in the computer which was traced after a gap two years.

Wanowari Police Inspector P K Mandre who is investigating the case told UNI here today that initial investigations are being carried out by the army authorites after which the chargesheet would be framed against the accused. Meghlani has not yet been arrested, Mr Mandre added.
