Meghalaya Cabinet expansion tomorrow
Shillong, June 18 (UNI) As part of the Cabinet expansion, nine more MLAs will be sworn-in at Raj Bhavan here tomorrow.
After returning from New Delhi today, new Meghalaya Chief Minister J D Rymbai had sent in the list of his Council of Ministers to Governor Dr S S Sidhu.
Mr Rymbai, accompanied by Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee president Onwardly Nongtdu and Congress Legislator Charles Pyngrope, yesterday evening met AICC president Sonia Gandhi to finalise the list of Council of Ministers.
Soon after his landing at International Gopinath Bordoloi airport, Guwahati, Chief Minister told UNI over the phone that the list of Ministers was sealed in an envelope, which will only be known by the Governor.
However, he said his Cabinet will comprise the old and new faces in the Ministry.
Sources close to the Congress hinted that the probables who will climb the bandwagon are - former Home minister Robert Garnett Lyngdoh, K K Dkhar, Manirul Islam Sarkar, Zenith Sangma, Boldness Nongum, E D Marak, Sengran Sangma and Shitlang Pale.
Earlier, on June 16, along with the new Chief Minister, two MLAs from the coalition partners - Dr Donkupar Roy of the United Democratic Party and Martle N Mukhim of the Meghalaya Democratic Party were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers.
