MCX COMDEX down 97.42 points

Mumbai, June 18 (UNI) The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) COMDEX closed at 2145.46 down by 97.42 points (-4.54 per cent), during the week ended June 15.

The recorded total weekly turnover was Rs 41,400.58 crore, according to a MCX weekly report.

The MCX metal index closed at 2199.27 down by 212.49 points (-9.66 per cent), while energy index closed at 2647.06 down by 31.86 points (-1.20 per cent) and agri index closed at 1590.03 down by 47.94 points (-3.02 per cent).

All contracts of MCX gold were registered at a turnover of Rs 19,996.00 crore, while silver recorded a turnover of Rs 12,060.68 crore. The outstanding open interest for all contracts of gold was 7,100 kg and the total volume recorded was 2,25,896 kg. The outstanding position for all MCX silver contracts for the week was 2,21,0400 kg and the total volume recorded was 74,37,050 kg.

In the metal segment, all MCX copper contracts registered a turnover of Rs 5,841.02 crore with open interest of 4,790 ton and recorded total volume of 1,80,385 ton, while all MCX zinc contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 1,047.38 crore with open interest of 3,425 tons and recorded 70,925 tons as total volume.

In the energy segment, all MCX crude oil contract showed a turnover of Rs 869 crore with open interest of 2,89,400 BBL and total volume recorded was 31,38,500 BBL.

Following are the major commodities on the MCX : Chana contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 99.98 crore with open interest of 16,160 tons and total volume recorded was 38,850 tons.

mentha oil contracts registered a turnover of Rs 188.67 crore with open interest of 20,36,880 kg and total volume recorded was 43,79,040 kg, while refined soy oil contracts with open interest of 24,420 tons registered a turnover of Rs 398.48 crore and total volume recorded was 95,980 tons. Potato contracts registered a turnover of Rs 170.80 crore with open interest of 68,520 ton and total volume recorded was 2,91,690 tons.
