Left to discuss UPA response to its note
Vijayawada, June 18 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) polit bureao member Sitaram Yechury today said the Left parties would discuss at their next meeting the response of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government to the points they had raised in the nine-page note submitted to the Centre.
Participating in a meet-the press programme here, he said the decisions taken by the Centre in contravention of the National Common Minimum Programme (NCMP) should be rectified and the promises made to the people prior to the elections be addressed.
The Left parties in their note had asked the Centre to pay urgent attention to problems like price rise, unemployment, lack of access to education, health and basic services.
Mr Yechury said the Left parties will decide the future course of action at the meeting after analysing the response from the Centre.
