Imphal, Jun 18 (UNI) The Kuki tribes of Manipur have strongly opposed the ongoing talks between the NSCN(IM) and the Centre.

The NSCN(IM) was demanding four districts of Manipur to be amalgamated to Nagaland to form a "Greater Nagaland".

Meitei, Kuki, Nepali, Muslims and other tribes were settled in all the areas, exclusively demanded by the Nagas.

A high power delegation convention comprising all principal Kuki chiefs, social political leaders also unanimously resolved to work for social harmony, peaceful co-existence and justice for all in the light of the present state of affairs.

The Kuki Nampi meeting held at Imphal resolved that the government and NSCN(I-M) political talks termed positive in certain medias had been meticulously studied and found out that the whole exercises was aimed at nothing sort of grabbing land at the expense of other community for settlement. This move, however, will be apparently rejected and non-compromisable under any circumstances it was further resolved.

'' All Kukis irrespective of varied social-political organizations are warned to desist from personal or sectarian interest and shun airing independent opinions and action poised to repugn the apex Kuki interest above all. Sectional infightings, intimidation of general public should be shunned henceforth and work concretively for evolving peace and tranquility within and without Kuki Community.
