Jawan tried to kill self in Naxal dominated Bandwan area

Purulia, Jun 18 (UNI) A jawan of the Eastern-Frontier Rifles, who was posted at Rajargram police camp in Naxal dominated Bundwan block of Purulia district made an abortive attempt to kill himself, police said today.

Police said Tsering Bhutia (32), who was duty had tried to commit suicide by his service rifle last night.

He was admitted to Bankura Sammelani Medical College hospital early today in a precarious condition.

It was stated that he was suffering from depression after denied a leave petition to visit his home. A probe has been ordered in the incident.
