It was not dog's death for 'Shiny'
Vijayawada, Jun 18 (UNI) An eerie silence descended over Gangadhara Rao's home when Shiny, a pet dog that had been living with his family for many years, died due to sickness here.
The tragedy drew over 250 'mourners' to the house though Shiny was not a human being.
The caracas drapped in new clothes was kept in an ice chamber and the last rites were performed as per tradition, family sources said.
Mr Rao said the loss was irrepairable for his family as they loved the pet like their "own son". Their only daughter Praveena (20) staying in London after her marriage, has not yet been informed as the news would upset her, he added.
Shiny had come into Gangadhara Rao's family seven years ago and was provided the "best conforts" like a separate air-conditioned room, it was being spoon-fed till the last.
A few days ago when the veterinary doctor 'prescribed' physiotherapy, the family allotted a room for the dog on the first floor of the house. However, Shiny could not recover from her sickness and died.
