IT Deptt to implement BPR
New Delhi, Jun 18 (UNI) Entering into an important phase of reform, the Income Tax Department (ITD) is looking for an Expression of Interest from reputed management consultancy firms to undertake a Business Process Reengineering (BPR) excercise.
The department wants to improve the quality of taxpayer services, streamlining its methods, processes and procedures, encouraging voluntary compliance and leveraging the massive induction technology that is being introduced in the working, according to official sources.
For this a new Directorate of Income Tax, BPR, has been constituted and an EOI is being invited.
However, the firms would have to fall under the eligibility criteria of annual turnover and experience.
