Indian fisherman shot at by Lankan Navy

Rameswaram, June 18 (UNI) An Indian fisherman, hailing from Ramewswaram, was shot at by Sri Lankan navy personnel while fishing in the midsea off Rameswaram-Dhanushkoti coast early today.

Police said the fisherman, Nambirajan, was admitted to Ramanathapuram government hospital.

About 800 Tamil fishermen were fishing in the midsea when the Sri Lankan navy fired at them, police said. A case has been registered by the police.
