Heat wave prevails in MP, Vidarbha and Chattisgarh

Pune, June 18 (UNI) Heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and of Chattisgarh.

In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and in some parts of north Madhya Maharashtrta and of Telangana, remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and of Chattisgarh and were above normal in Marathwada.

They were appreciably to markedly below normal in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and north Rajasthan.

They were normal over the rest of the regions.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, west Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar islands and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himalchal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in north interior Karnataka.
