H M commander killed in Jammu region

Jammu, June 18 (UNI) Security forces today killed a ''section commander'' of Hizbul Mujahideen in an encounter and apprehended 10 overground workers of the same outfit in the Jammu region.

Sources said acting on information, security forces killed a terrorist in an encounter at Bhal Padri, 10 km south-west of Bhaderwah, identified as Ishrat Hussain alias, Adil (20), a resident of Kalotran.

One Self Loading Rifle (SLR), two magazines and 10 rounds of ammunition were recovered from him.

In another incident, security forces apprehended six overground workers of the Hizbul Mujahideen, six kms north of Mahore this morning.

The apprehended workers have been identified as Abdul Rashid Bhat (50), Sikandar Nag (60), Nada Dandi (60), Abdul Rehman (65), Mohammad Farooq (20) and Abdul Jaffar (18).

Security forces busted a hideout at Muri forest, nine km away from north-west of Potha, in the afternoon and recovered 15 kg explosives including RDX.

In another incident, terrorists allegedly snatched .303 rifle and eight round of ammunition from Village Defence Committee (VDC) member identified as Gulama (33), resident of Bator, five km from Mohore. Suspecting foul play, police apprehended four civilians and detained Gulama for questioning.
