Former cricketers to me a part of CAB administration: Mukherjee

Kolkata, June 18 (UNI) City Police Commissioner Prashun Mukheree, while announcing his candidature for the post of president of Criocket Association of Bengal (CAB) made it clear that more fromer cricketers will have a say in Bengal cricket if he makes it to power.

At a press meet today flanked by former cricketers Sambaran Banerjee, Raja Venkat and Gopal Bose, he said, ''There have been a grievance that Bengal cricketers are not a part of its administration. This will end if I win and come to power.'' This fanned the speculations that Saurav Ganguly's elder brother Snehashis Ganguly could be a candidate for the vice-president's post, something on which Mr Mukherjee remained tight lipped.

''You will come to know about it soon,'' he said.

However, when asked if he had support of Sourav Ganguly, he said, ''He is a brand name. And everybody will like him on board. He is with us.'' Significantly, the senior of the Ganguly brothers was present in the May 20 convention, where Mr Mukherjee along with another biggie in the opposition Samar Pal made a show of their strength.
