Fake currency racket bursted

Akola, June 18 (UNI) The city police have achieved a breakthrough here by arresting a member of a racket involved in making fake currency notes by using computer.

According to police sources, they laid on Friday noon and one Sunil Ambhore was caught red handed while making fake currency notes.

However his friend Deepak Pahurkar Ambhore had already left for Mumbai with the fake notes as per the information revealed by Ambhore to the police.

The arrested is the resident of Shankar Nagar in Akot area of the city. He resided as the sub-tenant of M/S Shri Rajeshwar Xerox in Jathar peth locality here where he was manufacturing fake currency by using scanning techniques at the computer, the police added.

He was making fake currency notes of Rs 50, 100, 500 and 1000 denominations since last two months and had brought them into circulation in the market, the police said.

Fake currency notes of Rs 50 and 100 were seized from him and a case under relevent sections of IPC has been registered against him, police added.
