Cholera confirmed in 12 out of 30 patients admitted

Chennai, June 18 (UNI) Authorities in the communicable diseases hospital here today confirmed 12 out of 30 persons admitted to the hospital were suffering from cholera.

Hospital sources said the confirmation was made following a clinical analysis this morning. The 12 affected, including two children and six women, were quarantined. All the other cholera affected were given special attention.

A 32 year-old driver hailing from the same area died of cholera a couple of days back.

Meanwhile, the health authorities have intensified the preventive measures in the cholera affected areas at the Kottivakkam tenement and other areas in and around the city.
