Brazil and Australia scoreless at halftime
MUNICH, June 18 (Reuters) Australia held world champions Brazil to a goalless first half in their World Cup Group F match today.
Neither team was able to create any clear cut chances to score with both relying on speculative shots at goal in a tight first half with unfancied Australia giving just as good as they got.
Ronaldo, who started the match despite concerns about his form and fitness, failed to impose himself on the game and his frustration boiled over when he was booked for kicking the ball into the net after the whistle the gone.
The Brazilian captain Cafu also picked up a yellow card for a clumsy tackle on Jason Culina when he had broken down the right side while Culina and Brett Emerton were also booked.
