BPL rice sold in black market: Tewari
Shillong, Jun 18 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Secretary S K Tewari has admitted that rice meant for the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families was being sold in the black market.
"No one dares to come out and forward and speak out against such illegal activities," said Mr Tewari here last evening.
However, the Chief Secretary urged the people of the state to come forward and fight for their rights through the Right to Information Act.
"It is a high time to understand that without puting up a fight they would not be able to achieve their right," he lamented.
