Bomb blast kills hotel guest in south Thailand
Bangkok, June 18 (UNI) A bomb planted by suspected Islamic separatists exploded in a hotel in the troubled south Thailand province of Yala killing one person and seriously injuring two women.
The blast, which occurred last night, marked the third successive day of terrorist strikes in Thailand's Muslim-majority southern border provinces which have claimed four lives.
A series of nearly 50 coordinated bomb blasts early Thursday in the three southern provinces of Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani killed three people. Another wave of blasts rocked the provinces a day later injuring more than a dozen people.
About 1,300 people have been killed since separatist violence flared up in the three provinces in early 2004.
