Bengal Govt for global consultant for tourism promotion

Kolkata, June 18 (UNI) The West Bengal Government will soon appoint a global consultant for marketing the state's tourism potential and for wooing investment in the sector, state Tourism Minister Manab Mukherjee today said.

''We are in the process of selecting a global consultant for selection of the potential tourism areas for marketing and attracting investment,'' he said speaking at the inaugural session of the annual general meeting of Merchants Chamber of Commerce.

He said the state had great potential in tourism and the Left Front Government had decided to give priority on attracting investment in this sector.

It was now the effort of the Government to create adequate infrastructure in the areas of tourist interest to give a boost to tourism, Mr Mukherjee said.
