Army offers aid to molestation victims in Mizoram
Aizawl, June 18 (UNI) Army authorities have expressed willingness to provide necessary assistance to the two girls who were allegedly molested by an Army jawan at Thuampui locality here recently.
They have assured the two girls of further help, which includes education upto 12th standard, computer training, tailoring and knitting/weaving courses, and a job offer of typing attendant or ECHS female attendant (available for only one).
The girls have been told to select their choice on the above mentioned offers.
An Army source said the report of inquiry has been sent to the Army commander in Leimakhong, Manipur. It assured the public that severe punishment would be given to the culprit who 'troubled' the two girls.
Bawngkawn police, as well as the Aizawl DC, had conducted separate inquiries into the incident. However, the process is yet to be completed.
