Arms haul case: LeT militants to be brought to court

Mumbai, June 18: All the 14 suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants arrested by the anti-terrorist squad (ATS) of the Mumbai police from Aurangabad last month, would be produced before the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on June 21 for further remand.

Fourteen people include Afroze Khan who surrendered before the court on June 13 and is currently in the police custody till June 21.

MCOCA Judge Mridula Bhatkar had remanded Khan to police custody till June 21, as custody of other 13 accused would also expire on the same day.

Other suspected accused include: Mohammad Amir Shakeel Ahmed, Zubair Sayyed Anwar, Muzaffar Tanvir, Abdul Azim Abdul Jamir Shaikh, Javed Majid, Afzal khan Nabir Khan, Riaz Ahmed Ramzan, Mohammad Sharif Ahmed, Bilal Razaq, Sayyed Zafruddin and Mushtaq Ahmed Isak.

The ATS had seized 16 AK-47, 43 kg RDX, 4000 ammunition rounds and 50 hand grenades last month in three different operations at Aurangabad, Nashik and Malegaon.
