All Indian semi line-up in South Asian TT

Kolkata, Jun 18 (UNI) Its an all Indian semi-final line-up in the cadet boys and girls section of the South Asian Junior Tournament that got underway here today.

In the cadet boys division Soumajit Ghosh of India beat Sri Lanka's Samika Aranta 11-2, 11-2, 11-2 in the quarters, while G Satyen defeated V S Ahmed of Pakistan 11-3, 11-7, 11-8 to set up a semi-final clash.

In the other quarters, V Nitin defeated Sri Lanka's W Suhita 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 11-3 to set up a semi clash with Raj Mondal who defeated Sri Lanka's Dulan Nakandala 11-6, 11-6, 11-6.

The girls semi final line up is also an all Indian affair with Ankita Das meeting Sreya Ghosh and Puja Shasrabuddhe clashing with Shruti Tarnekar.

While Shreya Ghosh defeated Mariam Sana (Mdv) 11-8, 11-6, 11-8, Shruti Talnekar beat C De Silva (Sri Lanka) 11-4, 11-2, 11-5. Pooja Shastrabuddhe beat Manoji Dinusha (Sri Lanka) 11-5, 11-5, 11-4, while Ankita Das beat Kamala Pokherel (Nepal) 11-9, 8-11, 11-5, 11-2.

In the team event India thrashed Nepal and Sri Lanka whipped Maldives 3-0 in both the boys and girls division. Pakistan beat Maldives 3-1 and 3-0 in the boys and girls section respectively.

Sri Lanka also beat Pakistan 3-0 and 3-1 in the boys and girl's section respectively.
