21 children hospitalised in Kashmir after drinking tap water
Srinagar, Jun 18 (UNI) At least 21 school children in Sopore area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district fell ill and unconscious after drinking tap water, official sources said today.
They said 21 students of the Iqra High School at Haigam in Sopore area fell ill after they drank water from a tap in their school.
The sources said the school children soon turned unconscious and were immediately rushed to the Sub-District Hospital, Sopore.
All the students have been declared out of danger, they added.
The locals later alleged that the filter of the tank from where the water is supplied to the village has expired.
However, it was not yet clear if the water had got polluted with some poisonous substance.
