Undertrial escapes from sub-jail in Madhya Pradesh

Dewas, MP, June 17 (UNI) An undertrial today escaped from district sub-jail by climbing the prison wall with the help of a raised platform meant for construction purposes, police said.

Lakhan Nath (30) fled when jail inmates had been taken out of barracke for prayer. Police chased Lakhan but failed to catch him.

Sub-jailer P L Labana informed the police control room.

Sub-divisional Magistrate Rameshchandra Pandya suspended guard Rishi Kumar for negligence with immediate effect.

Lakhan had been detained on April 4 on charges of theft and loot.
