Tesjaswini Ramesh threatened by partymen (Superceding BG 32)
Bangalore, June 17 (UNI) The Congress Loksabha member Tejaswini Ramesh today lodged a complaint to the police that C M Lingappa a former party legislator and his associates had threatened and attempt to assault her.
The incident happened during the polling in the bienniel elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council from the Bangalore Graduates constituency for which elections was held today.
Police sources said Ms Ramesh lodged a complaint at the Ijoor police station that former legislator C M Lingappa and his associates threatened to physically eliminate her after using abusive and foul language against her.
According to the complaint the former congress legislator C M Lingappa, who was camping near the polling station during the election saw the Kanakapura Loksabha member arrived in a car and started abusing her for identifying more with the JD(S) functioneries in the constituency.
A case has been registered in this connection, the police said.
Ms Ramesh shot into limelight when she won the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from Kanakapura constituency, defeating former Prime Minister and JD (S) supremo H D Deve Gowda.
