Technology boosting Air power: Tyagi

Hyderabad, June 17 (UNI) Air Chief Marshal S P Tyagi today said the technological advances in Air power had led to dramatical changes and profoundly altered the mechanics and very nature of warfare.

Participating in a Combined Graduation Parade at Air Force Academy here, Mr Tyagi said the ascendancy of Air power was amply displayed in recent wars and gradually it had been metamorphosed into Aerospace power.

''As India grows in stature and responsiblities, the Armed forces are bound to be at the forefront of events and diplomacy,'' he noted.

He said the Indian Air Force (IAF) has been conducting Joint sessions with Air Forces of other countries for learning and earning peer acclaim.

Mr Tyagi said the young officers should acquire a genuine thirst for knowledge and a habit of keeping abreast of the latest developments and changes should be developed.

On the occasion, 'Surya Kiran Aerobatic team of IAF' carried out a spectacular display , followed by 'Sarang'team flying the Advanced Light Helicopters.
