Sting operation: 2 policemen suspended for taking bribe

Fatehpur, June 17 (UNI) Two senior policemen caught taking bribe on camera from a village pradhan in this district were today suspended by police superintendent Vir Bahadur Singh.

Bindki police station officer Siraj Ahmad and Juniha station house officer Krishna Kumar Dwivedi were caught taking Rs 40,000 from Haji Ali in a sting operation conducted by a leading news channel.

Ali -- village pradhan of Majra Kurwa in Bindki area -- had been accused in a case. The two police officers had taken the bribe to settle the matter in his favour.

A case was registered against the duo before suspension.
