Peons handle teaching job
Pathalgaon, Chhattisgarh, June 17 (UNI) Shortage of teachers has thrown up an opportunity to three peons to teach middle school students at a government school in Jashpur district.
Apart from their routine duty of cleaning and arranging drinking water, peons Shivshankar Yadav, Lalit Mourya and Gautam Budh teach Mathematics, English and Science respectively in the middle section having total 250 students.
The school at Kotwa village in Pathalgaon block has at present 14 teachers while six posts are vacant, according to incharge Principal Ramdeo Rathore.
Surprisingly, the school with total strength of 992 has 18 peons, few of them graduates. The school registered 40 per cent pass in the High School examination this year.
