Orissa govt delegation to the US

New Delhi, Jun 17 (UNI) A four-member high powered delegation of the Orissa government led by state Chief Secretary Subash Pani is going to the US to negotiate with the World Bank the second line of credit for Orissa Socio-Economic Development Loan (OSEDL -II), amounting to 225 million dollars.

The delegation will be in Washington from June 19 to 23.

During the stay Mr Pani will hold discussions with the WB sector Directors of Agriculture and Rural Development, Poverty Reduction and Economic Management, Human Development, Energy and Infrastructure and Environmental and Social Development.

The team is also expected to meet the WB Vice President for South Asia region Praful Patel.

It will also visit Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston and Duke University in North Carolina to gather infrastructure requirement of a world class university and an international institute of information technology, in the context of proposals for such institutes being set up in Orissa.
