One held for illegal fishing at Aji dam near Rajkot

Rajkot, June 17 (UNI) The municipal corporation fire brigade staff today caught one Sunil Rathod for illegally fishing in the Aji Dam reservoir, one of the main sources of water to the city, and handed him over to the police.

Acting on a tip-off, the fire brigage personnel, assisted by the police vigilance department, raided the spot and seized 200 kg of fish, two scooters and three bicycles, from the vicinity, while six others managed to give them a slip.

Illegal fishing has been going on in the dam for quite some time, fire brigade sources said.
