Pathanamthitta, June 17 (UNI) Ominous signs emerged from the "Devaprasnam" being held at Sabarimala on the second day today.

Master astrologer Parappanangadi Unnikrishna Panicker briefed reporters about the various irregularities afflicting the whole gamut of going-ons at the holy hillock on the basis of "Prasna signs." He said the ongoing development work undertaken by the Travancore Devaswom Board did not conform to the age-old tenets of "Vasthu Vidya." The "Sacred grove," the abode of Lord Ayyappa, had lost its traditional pristine purity. He suggested that the management of "Pooonkavanam" should solely be under the control of Devaswom Board.

Mr Panicker said a special well should be dug at Sannidhanam for bathing purpose in the case of Tantri and Melsanthi. Another well also should be dug to draw water to be used as "Theertham".

The "Sopana geetham" eulogising Sastha should be revived. The use of pack donkies at Sabarimala had to be discontinued well in advance of the next annual pilgrimage season.

He said all pilgrims shoud be provided with "Annadanam". The chanting of Yajur Veda must be revived soon. The "Deva Prasnam" would last till Monday.

Prior to "Maharudra Yajnam" tomorrow, the recital of "Sampoorna Vedas" was held at "Sannidhanam" today. 170 priests chanted hymns from Rig, Yajur and Sama Vedas under the guidance of Jambunatha Janapadikal, head of the Perur Vedapatasala.
