Noted thinker Mohite selected for Shahu award

Kolhapur, June 17 (UNI) Noted thinker and former Maharashtra cooperation minister Yashwantrao Mohite has been selected for this year's 'Rajarshi Shahu award' instituted by the Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Memorial Trust (Kolhapur).

Announcing this at a press meeting here yesterday, trust member Baburao Dharwade said the award is given every year in a memory of great social reformer and erstwhile Kolhapur princely state ruler Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj to honour a person for his service and outstainding contribution in the respective field.

The award carries cash of Rs 51,000, a citation and memonto which will be presented to Mr Mohite at a function to be organised on June 26 on the occasion of Shahu Jayanti, he added.
