Naxals kill 5 villagers
Jagdalpur, June 17 (UNI) Five people, including a sarpanch, have been killed by Naxals for supporting anti-Naxalite 'Salwa Judum' movement in Chhattisgarh's South Bastar region, police said today.
Sarpanch Yatam Babu (39) was gunned down at his home in Dantewada district's Raknapalli village on June 15.
Three villagers were killed and their bodies were recovered from Murmed Gujjakonta village. The deceased were yet to be identified.
Nayipalli village resident Podpami was beaten by sticks to death by the ultras.
Meanwhile, eight villagers who were abducted two days back were released last night.
