National coach Bob Houghton to arrive in Goa on Monday

Panaji, June 17 (UNI) National coach Bob Houghton will arrive in Goa on June 19 to take charge of the football camp for the proposed international tournament, which is scheduled to begin in Vancouver, Canada from July 19.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) secretary Alberto Colaco said Mr Houghton will arrive on Monday as the camp will commence on June 21 or 22 as the Indian probables will be put through medical and physical tests before the camp.

The national campers will assemble in Margao as training session will be conducted at the Chowgule college's multipurpose artificial turf in South Goa.

''Simultaneously, the India under-20 footballers under the guidance of coach Islam Akhmedov will assemble in Margao from June 22'', Mr Colaco said.

''We will organise a national competition match involving the seniors and juniors on June 30 at the college ground'', he informed.

The national camp for seniors is likely to conclude on July 15 before the squad for the Canada series is finalised, he added.
