St Kitts, June 17 (UNI) Brian Lara's pleas for an express bowler fell on deaf ears as the West Indies selectors named a 13-member squad with middle order batsman Marlon Samuels replacing leggie Dave Mohammed for the second Test against India starting here on Thursday.

Though the lack of firepower in the bowling attack was exposed in both the Test matches and things turned worse with separhead Fidel Edwards in the sidelines nursing a groin injury, the selectors reposed faith in the same pace quintet of Jerome Taylor, Pedro Collins, Ian Bradshaw, Corey Collymore and allrounder Dwayne Bravo.

Samuels and opener Runako Morton, who has been in the squad for the opening two matches without appearing, might be considered to open the innings with Chris Gayle, as Daren Ganga remains off-colour at the other end.

Squad: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan (vice captain), Chris Gayle, Daren Ganga, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Runako Morton, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Bravo, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Ian Bradshaw, Pedro Collins, Corey Collymore, Jerome Taylor.
