Legislature Session to begin on June 19

Bangalore, June 17 : A 20 day session of the Karnataka Legislature will begin here on June 19, Principal Secretary to the Legislature Robin D'souza said today.

Speaking to newsmen here he said while official business would be held for 16 days, four days have been earmarked for non official business. The Legislature Secretariat had received over 310 questions and two calling attentions, he revealed.

Six bills including the Karnataka Essential Services maintenance (amendment) Bill would be passed during the session.

On holding the session in Belgaum, Additional Secretary of the Assembly S B Patil, who was also present, said the committee, set up for the purpose, was awaiting a report from Gulbarga. After receiving it, the committee would soon submit a detailed report to the government. He observed that infrastructural facilities in Belgaum were sufficient enough to enable the legislature session.

However, some minor facilities such as public and press galleries were needed to be created at the venue where the Council was considered to hold its sittings, he added.
