IFFCO-TOKIO raises Rs 30 lakh for schools in TN
New Delhi, June 17: IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance Company (ITGI) and its foreign partners Millea Holdings Inc, Tokio Marine and Nichido Fire and Millea Asia Pte Ltd have raised Rs 30 lakh for an NGO to build four primary schools in Kanchipuram, Villupuram and Cuddalore, which were inaugurated today.
This has been undertaken as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative towards Tsunami relief in partnership with an NGO 'Round Table India'.
''We have initiated this project keeping with our philosophy of the 'life you deserve'. We believe it is the duty of every corporate citizen to address the people's most basic requirements immediately in a disaster situation such as the Tsunami,'' ITGI Director Operations Masahiro Ogawa said in a statement here.
ITGI, ranked third amongst the private General Insurance players, has a network of 92 offices across the country and has grown by 79 per cent with a market share of 4.4 per cent.
It is a joint venture promoted by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Co-operative (IFFCO) and its associates and The Tokio Marine and Nichido Fire, the largest insurance company in Japan.
