Hesperus claims S M Ramakrishna Rao memorial cup

Bangalore, June 17 (UNI) Favourite Darius Byramji's ward 'Hesperus,' ridden by Jockey K P G Appu, won the S M Ramakrishna Rao memorial cup, the main event of the races held here today.

The winner was owned by Mr S Rangarajan.

Trainers S Ganapathy and Darius Byramji and Jockey B Prakash had a treble each, Jockey Ryan Marshal won a double.

Jockey A Velu could not take part in the races as he suffered a leg injury. He was admitted to a hospital.

Punters had a mixed day with four favorites obliging in a card of eight events.
