Graham Thorpe gets MBE
London, June 17 (UNI) Former England Test player Graham Thorpe has been honoured with an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
The 36-year-old and 100-Test veteran player scored a century on debut against Australia and went on to score 6,774 runs at an average of 44.66.
Apart from Thrope, Barry Ferguson, the Glasgow Rangers and Scotland legend was also honoured with an MBE even though Steven Gerrard, who scored for England against Trinidad&Tobago in the ongoing World Cup, missed out on the award.
Gurinder Chadha, best known for her films ''Bhaji On The Beach'' and the 2002 smash-hit ''Bend It Like Beckham'' also got an OBE.
