Former minister clarifies on Sem India
Chennai, June 17 (UNI) The previous AIADMK government did not evince interest in inviting Sem India to set up its manufacturing facility in the state as the company sought ''everything free of cost'', former Information and Local Administration Minister K P Anbazhagan claimed today.
In a rejoinder to Local Administration Minister M K Stalin on the ''desalination project issue'', Mr Anbazhagan said Sem India had asked 1,500 acres of land free of cost, besides free power and free water to set up its facility in the state.
Union IT and Communication Minsiter Dayanidhi Maran who had been blaming former Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa for losing out Sem India to Andhra Pradesh, should know the concessions sought by the company, he said.
Alleging that the DMK government had signed an agreement with Motorola to benefit Mr Maran and his family members, Mr Anbazhagan dared the DMK Union Ministers to make public the concessions offered to Motorola.
