FIR against former chief of BIEC

Patna June 17 (UNI) The State Vigilance Investigation Bureau has registered an FIR against former chairman of Bihar Intermediate Education Council (BIEC) Ramchandra Sinha and four others on the charges of cheating, forgery, financial irregularities and misuse of official position.

The FIR was registered under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Prevention of Corruption (PC)Act. Altogether five people were named accused in the case, including Mr Sinha and two former secretaries of BIEC R P Poddar and M M Kazmi.

The case was related to irregularities committed in construction of multi-storey building of BIEC at Patna during the year 1992 to 1995. According to the charges no tenders were invited for the appointment of architect and building constructor. Construction materials were also purchased on higher rates.

The FIR had already been submitted before the special vigilance judge of Patna Ramniwas Prasad.
