DS Constructions completes Raipur-Durg Expressway Project

New Delhi, Jun 17 (UNI) DS Constructions Ltd (DSC), an infrastructure developer company, today announced the completion of Rs 95 crore Raipur-Durg Expressway Project, awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The 27-km long expressway has been constructed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis with a concession period of 11 years 9 months, including the construction period of the project. The work included four laning of the existing 2-lane carriageway on the Raipur-Durg section of NH-6 in Chhattisgarh.

The travel time between Raipur and Durg will be reduced from 55-60 minutes to 30 minutes due to this.

''The expressway is the first of its kind in Chhattisgarh and is a significant project for DSC and will help usher in a new wave of development into Raipur. It is an important link to the state as all major industrial and commercial establishments are situated along this section,''said DS Constructions Ltd, Director Anhad Narula.

Based on the performance and its experience, DSC has recently been awarded another road project, Raipuir-Aurang worth Rs 190 crore. ''We are optimistic of completing this project also on time,'' he added.

NH-6 is a part of the Golden Quadrilateral Highway Project connecting Chhattisgarh with Vishakapatnam, one of the most important ports of India and Mumbai with Kolkata. Over 13,000 vehicles are expected to use the expressway every day in the first year of operation.

The expressway has two toll stations installed, one at Kharun - at the entry point of the expressway from Raipur and the other at Kosanala - at the exit point of the expressway towards Durg.

DSC has made pioneering efforts in Indian infrastructure executing the Delhi Gurgaon Expressway, the first urban expressway on BOT basis given on a negative grant worth Rs 850 crore and Viramgam - Mahesana Gauge Conversion Project - the first BOT project in the railways sector.

Currently, DSC is executing various other Railways and Road projects, including the largest expressway project sanctioned so far, the 135 km long Western Peripheral Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway in Haryana worth Rs 1800crore.

DSC has recently forayed into the Indian Hydro Power sector with the Rs 5000 crore, 1000 MW Naying Hydroelectric Power Project in Arunachal Pradesh.
