Written by: Staff

Dehra Dun, June 17(UNI) A court official was today dismissed on charges of indulging in corrupt practices involving the Uttaranchal Chief Minister Discretionary Fund.

Madan Mohan Karnatak was dismissed by Almorah District Magistrate Rajiv Chandra.

Mr Chandra said Karnatak was found guilty of forging payment of Rs 75,000 from CMD Fund and manipulating the payments in 215 other cases. He was also found guilty of insubordination. The decision was taken after the probe revealed Karnatak's involvement in the scam.

Other five accused employees are also under suspension for their involvement in payment irregularities.

In December last year, the irregularities were detected in the disbursement of CMDF where Rs 75,000 sanctioned in the name of one Pramod Bisht was given to some other person.
