Conditions favourable for monsoon in AP
Hyderabad, Jun 17 (UNI) Conditions are favourable for the monsoon to get active in the next couple of days in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the present indications, the southwest monsoon would become active from June 19, the weather office said.
The state capital has a high temperature of 33.1 deg C and a low of 23.2 today.
Isolated rain occurred over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm were Hakimpet AP, Gudivada(Krishna dist), Hindupur (Anantapur dist), Kuppam (Chittoor dist) 4 each, Vijayawada AP, Chevella (Rangareddy dist), Paderu (Visakhapatnam dist) 3 each, Chintapalli (Visakhapatnam dist), Kadiri and Kalyandurg (both Anantapur dist), Medchal (Rangareddy dist) 2 each and Hyderabad AP, Mahabubnagar, Chilamattur and Rayadurg (both Anantapur dist), Eturnagaram and Jangaon (both Warangal dist), Golkonda (Hyderabad dist), Kodangal (Mahabubnagar dist), Koilkuntla (Kurnool dist), Sangareddy (Medak dist), Suryapet (Nalgonda dist), Venkatagiri Town (Nellore dist) one each.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers were likely to occur at a few places over Telangana and Rayalaseema. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Forecast for Hyderabad City and neighbourhood valid until the morning of June 18. A few spells of rain or thundershowers were likely, the office added.
