Central Railway posts 43 pc increase in earnings
Mumbai, June 17 (UNI) The Central Railway (CR) has registered an increase in loading-originated earnings by 43 per cent in the first two months of the financial year 2006-07.
A CR release here said its accrued revenue through the loading is Rs 479 crore as against Rs 335 crore during the corresponding period last year.
The CR has registered 8.93 million tonnes of loading in April and May, as compared to 7.43 million tonnes during the same period a year ago. Among the important commodities it handled included coal, cement, fertiliser and mineral oil.
