Anbumani announces award for nurses

Chennai, June 17 (UNI) The Centre would institute an award in the name of 'Florence Nightingale' for nurses in the country on the lines of the prestigious B C Roy Award for doctors, Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss said.

Inaugurating a workshop here yesterday, he said there would be an award for one nurse from all government hospitals in each state.

The award would be presented by the president.

He described nurses as the most important member of a hospital.
