60 hospitalised in Kerala for food poisoning

Thrissur, Jun 17 (UNI) Nearly 60 people were hospitalised today for suspected food poisoning in Aloor of the district last night.

Police said the victims, including many women and children, had consumed vegetable biriyani at the house of one Chaithli Thomas, whose father passed away recently.

They were admitted to various hospitals in Chalakkudy, Kodakara and other nearby places after they started complaining of stomach pain and nausea.

However, none was reported to be serious and several people had been discharged after first aid, they said.

No arrests had been made in this connection so far, police added.
