135 cadets commissioned as Flying Officers in IAF

Hyderabad, June 17 (UNI) About 135 cadets were commissioned as Flying Officers in the Indian Air Force (IAF) after successfully completing their training at the IAF Academy in the city today.

Seventy cadets, including five women, of Flying (Pilot) Branch were awarded wings, while eight cadets from Flying (Navigation) Branch and 51 cadets, including 25 women, in ground duty branches were commissioned.

Three Naval officers and one Coast Guard officer were awarded Wings on completion of the flying training.

Participating in Combined Graduation Parade at the Academy,Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal S P Tyagi, presented the 'President's Plaque and Chief of Air Staff sword of honour' to flying officer Vishak Nair for standing first in overall order of merit in the 177 Pilot Course.

Flying officer T V Gopa Kumar received the President's plaque for standing first in the order of merit among 118 Ground Duty Officers Course while Mr Pranav Nayyar was awarded President's Trophy for 101 Navigation Course from the Chief of Air staff.
