Woman commits suicide after killing 4 minor daughters

Maharajganj, June 16 (UNI) A woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping in Betwa river after killing her four minor daughters.

Financial hardship was said to be the reason behind the crime.

Police said Sharda (40) of village Kewlapur in Chowk area here took the extreme step yesterday near the Indo-Nepal border.

People came to know of the incident this morning after three bodies were found floating in the river.

Later, police fished out the corpses of Champa (16), Poonam (7) and Suman (10).

However, the bodies of Sharda and her six-month-old daughter were yet to be found.

Investigations were on in the case.
