UB Group plans to acquire French wine company
Bangalore, June 16: The UB Group proposed to acquire Bouve-Laudebe, a subsidiary of France-based Tattiger, for a deal of 15 million Dollars to enable the group to manufacture high quality 'Premium Wine', its Chairman Vijay Mallya announced today.
Speaking to newspersons on the sidelines of 'The India Innovative Summit-2006' here, he said the acquisition of the wine company would allow acceess to wine technology of the highest order.
The liquor baron said the wine industry offered tremendous opportunities in the country and abroad. Preliminary study conducted on the wine market in Russia and China had revealed that the industry was gaining ground in a big way and the UB Group would certainly make a foray into it.
